Terms and conditions

The terms that apply when a firm of solicitors instructs Richard Grey, and when you use this website.

Last updated: 5 November 2026

Who we are

These terms are between you and Altivra Consulting Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 14968248), with its registered office at Brookfield Court, Selby Road, Garforth, Leeds, LS25 1NB. Richard Grey provides police station representation through Altivra Consulting Ltd. In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Altivra Consulting Ltd, and “you” means the firm of solicitors instructing us, or the person using this website.

By sending us an instruction or by using this website, you accept these terms.

Who can instruct us

We accept instructions only from solicitors and firms of solicitors who need someone to attend a police station on their behalf and represent their clients. We do not accept instructions directly from members of the public.

If you are a member of the public and you have been arrested, you are entitled to free, independent legal advice. Ask the custody officer for the duty solicitor, or ask your own solicitor to contact us.

By instructing us you confirm that you are a solicitor, or that you are authorised to instruct us on behalf of a firm of solicitors.

Our service

We provide accredited police station representation. This includes attending the police station, being present at interview under caution, and advising your client during their time in custody, as set out in our fee schedule.

As the instructing firm, you remain responsible for your client’s case, for your own client care and regulatory obligations, and for giving us the information we need to act.

An instruction is accepted when we confirm it to you by phone or email. We may decline an instruction, for example if we are unavailable or we have a conflict of interest. We cannot guarantee any particular outcome for your client.

Fees and payment

Our fees are set out in the fee schedule on this website at the time you instruct us. They do not include VAT or travel.

  • VAT is added at the standard rate, currently 20%.
  • Travel costs are charged at £0.55 per mile and are billed separately.
  • Invoices are due for payment within 28 days of issue.

If an invoice is not paid by its due date, we may claim interest and compensation under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.

Confidentiality and your information

We keep information about you and your client confidential. We use it only to deal with your instruction, unless the law or our professional obligations require us to disclose it.

Our privacy policy explains how we use personal information.

Our responsibility to you

We will provide our services with reasonable skill and care. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability where the law does not allow it, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
